LGBTQIA+ Networking Brunch

Event Description

A student-led and organized event giving LGBTQIA+ scholars in the Department of Chemistry an opportunity to network with chemist and LGBTQIA+ advocate, Dr. Teshik Yoon, from University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Dr. Yoon was a 2019 winner of a “Chemmy” award. This award is given to two chemists each year who are producing scientific work that interests and inspired current Emory graduate scholars. The speakers are selected by a vote managed by Pi Alpha Chemical Society and the visits are student-hosted. This brunch event is a perfect example of the way Spectrum hopes to partner with existing events in chemistry and campus wide to ensure that diversity and inclusion work is fully integrated into every aspect of our work.

Audience

All graduate and postdoctoral scholars identifying as LGBTQIA+ were invited to attend.
